Artefact Magazine: ‘Challenging Stereotypes ‘South of the River”

Picture taken 'south of the Thames.'

One of the first in depth pieces I wrote for Artefact Magazine, was this one. This piece was all about the stereotypes of south London.

Now, Twitter has its own negative south London stereotypes and everyone on Twitter loves to believe these portrayals… I guess it brings entertainment.

I’ve been living in south-east London for three years now, and I love it! I love how urban it is and the diversity, it’s way more diverse than some of the other parts of London.

I was raised in Leicester so, I don’t think I would be able to cope if I didn’t live in a diverse, urban area.

In the article below, I talk to a range of people who live in south London; people who were born and bred in south, people who have been involved in drug crime and blame living in south for it, I also interviewed people who have moved to south London in recent years to find out what their views on south London are.

Let me know if you think that I hit the nail on the head with this one!
