Approaching my deadline, I had a last-minute idea for an article for my university’s magazine, I decided to interview a range of Indian women of all ages some born in England and some born in India.
I set out to learn and compare their family traditions and whether they decided to or to not abide by them when growing-up.
I found this topic madly interesting, especially because I knew most of the women personally, in fact a lot of them were close family, so it was quite intriguing to find out what they thought about education, marriage and raising children from a traditional perspective.
My Gramma, born in India, believes husbands should be treated the same as God and my Mum, born in England, believes some traditions drove her and her family apart, so the views in this article were quite diverse.
